The most common and straightforward way to convert an HID setup to LED is to buy a plug-and-play LED bulb designed to pair directly with your car's original factory ballast (OEM ballast). 

What If You Want to Ditch the Ballast? (HID Ballast Bypass)

If you want to ditch the ballast, here is where you need to pay close attention to your specific bulb model (D1, D2, D3, or D4), as the solution depends entirely on what your car uses.

For D2 and D4 Owners: GX827 Series

If your car uses D2 or D4 HID bulbs and you want to install LEDs without using the factory ballast, you can choose to upgrade using the GX827 LED model. This specific model allows you to perform a complete ballast bypass, giving you a clean and direct-wire upgrade.

For D1 and D3 Owners: The HDX Model

Here is the catch—if your car runs on D1 or D3 setups, you cannot use the GX827 to bypass the ballast. Due to the way these specific automotive electrical systems are wired and powered, D1 and D3 users still have to use the HDX LED model. This means you will still be working alongside a functioning ballast system.
